Memjet Materials; Water-based Inkjet Coated Label Stock

When it comes to printing with Memjet, there are a variety of water-based inkjet coated materials available. Memjet printing technology has been gaining in popularity over the past few years, and for good reason. The superior print quality matched with high print speeds make the technology perfect for short run printing at high speed.

Water-based inkjet (WBIJ) material has been becoming increasingly more in demand as customers are looking to bring their printing in-house. This material has a special water based inkjet receptive coating applied to it, and can come in both sheet material as well as roll materials.

Each type of material has its own unique properties and advantages, making them suitable for different types of applications.

Here is an overview of the different types of water-based inkjet coated materials available for Memjet printers:

Polypropylene (PP)

This is one of the most common substrates used in digital label printing. It’s strong and lightweight which makes it perfect for packaging products such as cosmetics or food items that need to be protected against damage during shipping or storage.

PP also provides excellent printability due to its smooth surface and superior brightness levels compared to other paper substrates.

Paper

Paper is one of the most popular options when it comes to digital printing because it offers flexibility in terms of size, shape, finish and weight.

In addition, paper can be easily die cut into custom shapes without any additional processing steps required before printing on it.

Furthermore, paper has great opacity which ensures bright colors even on dark backgrounds while still providing good image resolution at a low cost per page printed. Paper is also very receptive to water based inkjet inks without needing any heat treatment after printing.

Vinyl (PVC)

Vinyl is another popular choice among designers who want vibrant colors with outstanding durability since vinyl can withstand harsh weather conditions without fading or cracking over time like some other materials may do.

Additionally, vinyl offers good scratch resistance so your prints will look just as amazing after years in use as they did when you first printed them out!

Polyester (PET)

Polyester is a synthetic substrate that is lightweight and semi-rigid and can come in matte and gloss face stock. It is a high quality material that is very durable and is great for Memjet Printing due to the high image quality that it offers.

Additionally, vinyl offers good scratch resistance so your prints will look just as amazing after years in use as they did when you first printed them out!

Holographic Materials

Holographic patterns are becoming increasing popular as many cannabis brands and CBD brands look to add a unique touch to their product packaging.

Holographic materials can come in a variety of face stocks, including rainbow shim and cracked ice.

Holographic materials can also be manufactured with company specific branding in the background to act as a security label. These types of labels are inherently difficult to copy creating a challenge for would be imposters.

Additionally, vinyl offers good scratch resistance so your prints will look just as amazing after years in use as they did when you first printed them out!

Gold Foil and Silver Foils

Gold and Silver foil materials are usually a high durability synthetic with a highly polished face stock. These types of materials are great for cosmetic brands, as well as cannabis companies, and anyone who is looking to have their label pop off the shelf.

These foil stocks can catch the eye easily due to the shininess they give off when in the light. This can be blocked out with the ink from Memjet printers creating a unique sheen on the label that is difficult to achieve with other printing technology.

No matter what kind of project you’re working on Memjet printers paired up with one (or more) types out of these options listed above can help ensure top notch results every single time!
